

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a technology that allows you to be notified when the content of a website changes. Many websites now use this technology - look out for the RSS logo (see left).
To use RSS you need two things:
If you have a modern web-browser (e.g. Internet Explorer 7), you will have an inbuilt RSS reader. Other RSS readers are available to download, and the one you choose depends on how you want to be notified. For example, you can download readers that work with Microsoft Outlook so you can be notified in your email inbox or to your mobile phone.
